Biography
Marlon Barrios Solano is a Venezuelan-American interdisciplinary artist, creative technologist and researcher working at the intersection of dance, software engineering, and cognitive science. His practice fuses generative AI, creative coding, and performance. He is the Maker-in-Residence at the Center for Arts, Migration, and Entrepreneurship (CAME) at the University of Florida, focusing on AI, arts, and diasporas. Marlon is also an artist-in-residence with Rewilding Cultures at Radiona (Zagreb) and Lake Studios Berlin, which he co-founded. His recent browser-based AI works include installations, workshops, participatory performances, and improvisational sound and video environments—all shared under open-source licenses.
In 2008, he founded dance-tech.net, an influential network for dance and digital technology practitioners, where he produced 200+ interviews and pioneering XR projects. He holds an MFA in Dance and Technology (Ohio State University) and certifications in software engineering, mindfulness, and somatic practices.
