Biography

Russian baritone Mikhail Timoshenko studied at the Mednogorsk Conservatory, the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin and the Académie of Paris Opera. Awards include the first prizes at the 2018 Hugo Wolf Competition in Stuttgart, 2017 International Maria Callas Grand Prix and 2019 Wigmore Hall Competition in London. Past engagements include the title role of Le nozze di Figaro in Nancy; Ottokar (Der Freischütz) at Konzerthaus Berlin, Mozart’s Mass in C Minor at the Salzburg Festival, Albert (Werther) and Prosdocimo (Il turco in Italia) in Lausanne, Marcello (La bohème) and Chtchelkalov (Boris Godunov) in Toulouse, Chtchelkalov at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Le tribut de Zamora in Saint-Etienne, Papageno (The Magic Flute) in Montpellier and Leporello (Don Giovanni) at the Glyndebourne Festival. He made his Royal Opera debut in the 2023/24 Season as Marcello. 2024/25 Season engagements include Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) in Nancy and Papageno at Paris Opera.
