American-Finnish tenor Miles Mykkanen’s 2023/24 Season highlights include his San Francisco Opera debut in the North American premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s Innocence, and concert engagements with the symphonies of Atlanta, Kansas City and Oregon as well as with Music of the Baroque under Jane Glover. In the 2022/23 Season, he appeared with the Canadian Opera Company, Chicago Opera Theater, Staatsoper Hamburg and Opéra de Lausanne. He is also a frequent guest at the Metropolitan Opera, where recent engagements have included appearences in Ariadne auf Naxos, Boris Godunov, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Wozzeck and Die Zauberflöte. He has collaborated with directors and conductors including Robert Carsen, Ted Huffman, Simon McBurney, Leonardo García Alarcón, Marek Janowski, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Antonio Pappano, Stephen Wadsworth, Sebastian Weigle and Franz Welser-Möst, and is current Artistic Director of the Emberlight Festival in Michigan, USA. This is his Royal Opera debut.
