Spanish dancer Millán de Benito joins The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers programme at the beginning of the 2026/27 season. 

Born in La Rioja, Spain, Millán moved to Madrid at age 10 to perform the lead role in Billy Elliot the Musical. He later continued his training at the Royal Conservatory of Dance Mariemma, where he toured nationally with the junior company La Real. 

In 2023, he was awarded the Gold Medal at the Prix de Lausanne, earning a scholarship to join The Royal Ballet School in London. During his time at the School, he received the Barbara Fewster Award and performed leading roles in Paquita, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Christopher Wheeldon’s Christening Suite, and David Bintley’s Beauchamps Gardens. 

His pas de deux Anima Mea, created as part of the School’s Ninette de Valois Choreographic Programme, was selected to represent the School at the Youth Grand Prix Gala in Japan in 2025 and was later performed by Millán himself at the Youth American Grand Prix International Dance School Festival at Lincoln Center, New York in April 2026.
