Biography
British bass-baritone Ossian Huskinson studied at the Royal Academy of Music. He was a finalist in the 2022 Neue Stimmen and 2023 Paris Opera competitions and winner of the 2022 Critics' Circle Young Talent (Voice) Award and The Mozart Prize at Concours Tenor Vińas 2024. Roles as a Jette Parker Artist with The Royal Opera included Wagner (Faust), Angelotti (Tosca), Mandarin (Turandot), Abimelech (Samson et Dalila) and Marquis D'Obigny (La traviata). Roles with English National Opera as a Harewood Artist included Harašta (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Speaker (The Magic Flute). Engagements elsewhere include The Druid (The Devil's Den) for Opera North, Pluto (L'Orfeo) and Jupiter (Platée) for Garsington Opera, Seneca (L'incoronazione di Poppea) for Opéra de Toulon, the title role in Le nozze di Figaro for Dorset Opera and Pietro (Simon Boccanegra) for Deutsche Oper Berlin. Concert appearances include Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at BeethovenFest Bonn and Verdi's Requiem with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His debut solo recital The Roadside Fire (Linn Records) was released in 2022. Engagements for 2026/27 include Don Fernando (Fidelio) for Scottish Opera, Foreman (Jenůfa) for Glyndebourne and Leporello (Don Giovanni) for Opéra de Lausanne. Huskinson's continued development is supported by the Mascarade Opera Foundation.
