Biography

Peggy Wu is completing her Masters in Conducting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying with Martyn Brabbins. She previously graduated from Royal College of Music, studying piano with Norma Fisher, and is mentored by pianists Maria João Pires and Dang Thai Son. She is a Britten Pears Young Artist and a member of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Women Conductors Programme. Awards include prizes at the Birmingham International Piano Competition and Windsor International Piano Competition. She was also a Finalist at the New York International Piano Competition and a Semi-Finalist at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. 

Wu has conducted orchestras including Royal Northern Sinfonia, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Scottish Opera, London Sinfonietta, Berlin Sinfonietta and Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. She has assisted on opera productions including the JPAP Production of Larmes de Couteau/Full Moon in March, Lammermuir Festival’s Catriona and the Dragon (world premiere) and British Youth Opera’s Pilgrim’s Progress.
