Conductor and répétiteur Peggy Wu joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2024/25 Season. She is a graduate of the Royal College of Music and holds a Master’s in Conducting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is a member of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Women Conductors Programme and was a 2023/24 Britten Pears Young Artist. Awards include prizes at the Birmingham and Windsor International Piano Competitions. She was also a Finalist at the New York International Piano Competition and a Semi-Finalist at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. Wu has conducted orchestras including the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Scottish Opera, London Sinfonietta, Berlin Sinfonietta and Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra. She has assisted on opera productions including Catriona and the Dragon (World Premiere, Lammermuir Festival), Pilgrim’s Progress (British Youth Opera) and the JPAP production of Larmes de Couteau/Full Moon in March. Her 2024/25 Royal Opera engagements include conducting the Orchestra of ENO for the JPAP production of Pimpinone and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House for the JPAP Summer Performance, as well as assisting on Trouble in Tahiti + A Quiet Place. Her 2025/26 engagements include assisting on Die Zauberflöte (The Royal Opera) and Pierrot Lunaire (The Royal Ballet) and conducting the JPAP chamber productions of The Departure, Making Arrangements and Four Sisters and the JPAP Summer Performance.
