Peter Bronder



Peter Bronder studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio. Early engagements included Rodolfo, Alfredo, Tamino and Lensky for WNO and Idomeneo and Tito for Glyndebourne Festival. His Royal Opera roles include Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Cassio, Pedrillo, Andres (Wozzeck), Shabby Peasant, Sellem (The Rake’s Progress) and Monostatos. Recent engagements include Iaryshkin in The Nose, Mime in Der Ring des Nibelungen (Berlin State Opera, La Scala, Milan, BBC Proms), Mime in Siegfried (Liceu, Barcelona, Palermo, Bergen), Mime in Das Rheingold (New York Philharmonic), Herod (La Scala, Teatro Real, Madrid, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, São Paulo), Lucio in Das Liebesverbot (Teatro Real, Frankfurt), Captain in Wozzeck and Rienzi (Frankfurt), the title roles of Palestrina (Zurich) and Der Zwerg (Lisbon, Frankfurt), Leper in St François d’Assise (Yomiuri Nippon SO), Peter Grimes (Bielefeld) and his Paris Opera debut as Misail in Boris Godunov. He returns to Paris in the 2023/24 Season for Hauk-Sendorf in The Makropoulos Case.
