Biography

Hawaiian baritone Quinn Kelsey’s recent engagements include the title role in Rigoletto for the Metropolitan Opera, Zurich Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Amonasro in a new production of Aida and Scarpia (Tosca) for the Metropolitan Opera and Germont (La traviata) for the Seiji Ozawa Academy.  He made his Royal Opera debut in 2016 as Germont and returned for Count di Luna (Il trovatore). Engagements for 2025/26 include Alfio and Tonio (Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci) for Lyric Opera of Chicago, Rigoletto for Canadian Opera Company, Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) for the Metropolitan Opera, creating the role of Timoteo Kamalehua Ha’alilio in the world premiere of The Sheltering Tree for Hawaii Opera Theatre, the title role in Macbeth for Royal Danish Opera under Antonio Pappano and Germont in Wiesbaden. Other highlights include the bass solo in Handel’s Messiah with the Philadelphia Orchestra and solo recitals in Washington D.C. and Cleveland.
