Biography

Robin Bailey’s highlights include Sellem in The Rake’s Progress (English Touring Opera, Barbara Hannigan’s EQ artist scheme); Fox in Vixen (English National Opera/Silent Opera); Mayor/cover Anatoly in Chess and cover Graf Albert in Die tote Stadt (ENO); Fenton/Falstaff and Alfred in Die Fledermaus (IF Opera); Gastone in La traviata (Nevill Holt); Quint in The Turn of the Screw and Henry Crawford in Mansfield Park (Waterperry Festival); the title role in Candide and Pirelli in Sweeney Todd (West Green House Opera); Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and Tony in West Side Story (Pimlico/Grange Park Opera); and Alexis in The Sorcerer and Nanki-Poo in The Mikado (Charles Court Opera). He was a founding member of the A Capella group Voces8. He was awarded Second Prize in the International Lotte Lenya competition in New York, and the Young Artists’ Prize at the Les Azuriales competition in Nice.
