Rosie Aldridge



English mezzo-soprano Rosie Aldridge made her Royal Opera debut in the 2016/17 Season as Praskovya Osipovna/Vendor (The Nose) and has returned as Mrs Sedley (Peter Grimes), Margret (Wozzeck) Aksinya (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Angrboda (The Monstrous Child) and Russian Nanny/Beggar Woman (Death in Venice). She was a member of the ensemble of Vienna State Opera (2016–18) where roles included Annina (Der Rosenkavalier), Gertrud (Hänsel und Gretel), Aksinya, Gertrude (Roméo et Juliette), Teresa (La sonnambula), Madame Larina (Eugene Onegin), Marthe Schwertlein (Faust) and Rossweisse (Die Walküre). Other engagements include Kostelnichka(Jenufa) for the Staatsoper Stuttgart and Berlin Staatsoper, Kabanicha (Kát’a Kabanová) for Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, Praskovya Osipovna/Vendor (The Nose) for Komische Oper Berlin, Nelly Dean (Wuthering Heights) for Opéra national de Lorraine, Mrs Sedley (Peter Grimes) for Teatro Real, Madrid and Paris Opera, Baba the Turk (The Rakes Progress) and Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro) for Glyndebourne Festival.
