Italian soprano Sara Cortolezzis won the Audience Special Prize at the Tenor Viñas International Singing Competition (2025), the First Prize ‘Carlo Bergonzi’ and the Special Prize ‘Renata Tebaldi’ for Best Female Voice at the 58th Voci Verdiane International Singing Competition in Busseto (2022) and the 75th Singing Competition at the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto (2021). Recent engagements include her debut as Elena (I vespri siciliani) at Teatro Comunale, Bologna, Leonora (Il trovatore) at Teatro Coccia, Novara, Desdemona (Otello) at Teatro Petruzzelli, Bari, her debut as the title role in Anna Bolena at Teatro Verdi, Trieste, Musetta (La bohème) at the Puccini Festival, Torre del lago, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) at Teatro Verdi, Trieste and at the Haydn Foundation in Bolzano, Mimì (La bohème) at the Tiroler Festspiele, Erl, Amelia (Simon Boccanegra) on tour with Opera North and Violetta (La traviata) at the National Theatre in Riga. She makes her debut with The Royal Opera in the 2025/26 Season as Hélène (The Sicilian Vespers).
