Canadian soprano Sarah Dufresne is a former Jette Parker Artist (2022–24). She was named one of the CBC’s ‘Top 30 Classical Musicians under 30’ (2022) and was awarded Second Aria Prize at the Montreal International Musical Competition. Highlights of 2024/25 included her BBC Proms and Edinburgh Festival debuts as Suor Genovieffa (Suor Angelica), Yvette (La Rondine) with the LSO under Pappano, Ophelie (Hamlet) for Opéra de Montréal, her Bayerische Staatsoper debut as Semele (Die Liebe der Danae) and Gilda (Rigoletto) for Victoria Opera. Other recent engagements include soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem (Banatul Filarmonica), Handel’s Messiah (Chorus Niagara) and Nora in Vaughan Williams’ Riders to the Sea (Opéra de Montréal). Engagements for 2025/26 include Gilda for Vancouver Opera, Lisa (La sonnambula) for Tiroler Festspiele Erl, her La Scala, Milan debut as Frasquita (Carmen) and performances with Les Violons du Roy under Nicolas Ellis. Roles for The Royal Opera include Frasquita, Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) and Gianetta (L’elisir d’amore).
