British mezzo-soprano Siân Griffiths’s recent engagements include Hippolyta (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for Teatro de la Maestranza, Mercédès and cover Carmen (Carmen) and Mary Fleming (Thea Musgrave’s Mary Queen of Scots) for English National Opera, Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for Opera North, Soloist in Joby Talbot’s ballet Like Water for Chocolate (Royal Ballet and Opera), Dorabella (Così fan tutte) for Opera North and Neville Holt Festival, Orefeo (Orfeo ed Euridice) for Biblioteca Alexandrina and Baba The Turk (The Rake’s Progress) for Verbier Festival’s Atelier Lyrique conducted by James Gaffigan. Recent concert highlights include the UK and European premiere of Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s Intonations with violinist Chloë Hanslip and the London Chamber Ensemble at the Red Violin Festival, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with the Rosslyn Hill Chapel Choir and Elgar’s Sea Pictures with the Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestra. Engagements for 2026/27 include Annina (Der Rosenkavalier) for Garsington Opera.
