Biography

French tenor Stanislas de Barbeyrac studied at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux and has performed at many of the world’s leading opera houses. His repertoire encompasses Pelléas in Pelléas et Mélisande (Liceu, Barcelona, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées), Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Vienna State Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, San Francisco Opera and Paris Opera), the title role in La clemenza di Tito (Paris Opera), Don José in Carmen (Staatsoper Berlin, Dutch National Opera, Opéra National de Bordeaux and Opernhaus Zürich), Pylade in Iphigénie en Tauride (Aix-en-Provence), Jason in Médée (Staatsoper Berlin, La Scala, Milan), and Lensky in Eugene Onegin at the Metropolitan Opera. He made his Royal Opera debut as Arbace (Idomeneo). He recently returned as Siegmund in Die Walküre, and sings the role again at Paris Opera in 2026/27. Further engagements for 2026/27 include Henri in Guercœur at Theater Dortmund and the title role in Samson et Dalila at Zurich Opera.
