Biography

Sussie Juhlin-Wallén is a UK-based costume designer. She studied Theatre Design at Wimbledon College of Arts. Recent opera productions include La Cenerentola (English National Opera), The Flying Dutchman (Opera Holland Park), Theodora (Teatro Real, Madrid), Guillaume Tell (Opera de Lausanne), La Voix Humaine (Opera National du Rhin, Strasbourg), Theodora (Royal Opera House), Blubeard’s Castle (Bayerische Staatsoper) and Miranda (Opéra-Comique). Her recent theatre works include Bernarda Albas Haus (Deutsches SchauSpeilHaus, Hamburg), Orlando and Shadow (Eurydice Speaks)(Schaubühne, Berlin), The Forbidden Zone (Salzburg Festival and Schaubühne), Norma Jean Baker of Troy (The Shed, New York), When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other, Cleansed and I’m Not Running (National Theatre), Ah, Wilderness and The Cherry Orchard (Young Vic) and A Sorrow Beyond Dreams (Burg Theatre, Vienna).
