Tanya McCallin
Biography
Born in England, Tanya McCallin studied at Central School of Art and Design. She made her Royal Opera House debut in 2001 as the designer for Macbeth (Kirov) and has since returned as costume designer for Rigoletto and designer for Le nozze di Figaro and Carmen. She has designed several productions in collaboration with David McVicar, including La traviata (Scottish Opera, Welsh National Opera, Geneva, Barcelona and Madrid), Manon (English National Opera, Houston, New Zealand, Dallas, Barcelona and Chicago), The Turn of the Screw (Mariinsky Theatre, ENO and Madrid), Macbeth (Kirov Opera, Kennedy Center) and Les contes d’Hoffmann (Salzburg Festival) and costume designs for Der Rosenkavalier (Scottish Opera, Opera North, ENO) and Così fan tutte (Strasbourg, Scottish Opera). Most recently she designed the set and costumes for Sweeney Todd (Théâtre du Châtelet and San Francisco) and the costumes for La traviata (Bolshoi).
