Biography
Ted Huffman is a writer and director for the stage. He studied Humanities at Yale University. Recent productions include L’incoronazione di Poppea for Aix-en-Provence Festival, Versailles, Cologne, Rennes, Toulon, and Netherlands Reisoper; The Faggots and their Friends Between Revolutions for Manchester International Festival, Holland Festival, Ruhrtriennale Festival, Southbank Centre, Bregenz Festival and Aix-en-Provence Festival; Street Scene for Paris Opera; Denis & Katya for Opera Philadelphia, DNO, Montpellier, Hannover, and Music Theatre Wales. Past highlights include 4.48 Psychosis (ROH, Strasbourg), The Time of our Singing (Brussels, St. Gallen), Sonntag aus Licht (Paris), Svádba (Aix-en-Provence Festival, Luxembourg, Ljubljana Festival), Les mamelles de Tirésias (Aix-en-Provence Festival, DNO, Brussels, Valencia), Roméo et Juliette, Madama Butterfly, Girl with the Pearl Earring (Zurich), Rinaldo, Die Zauberflöte, Orlando (Frankfurt), Salome (Cologne), Le premier meurtre (Lille), Trouble in Tahiti (DNO, Valencia) A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Deutsche Oper Berlin, Montpellier), Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno (Copenhagen, Montpellier), and Die Vögel (Strasbourg).
