Biography

William Gyves joins The Royal Ballet as the Prix de Lausanne dancer in the 2026/27 Season.

Born in North Carolina, USA, he trained in the University of North Carolina School of Arts under Misha Tchoupakov from 2016–23, and subsequently at the Tanz Akademie Zurich in Switzerland from 2023-26. He has performed as The Nutcracker and other roles in Ethan Stiefel's The Nutcracker, as well as roles in Ihsan Rustem's Only the Window and After Glass, Altea Nuñez's Simply Bach, Shahar Binyamini Bolero X (including on tour at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy), Sir Anton Dolin's Variations for Four, George Balanchine's Allegro Brilliante and William Forsythe's The Second Detail.
