As she prepares for her performance as Violetta in La traviata, Rachel Willis-Sørensen leads this special singing masterclass with artists from National Opera Studio.

American soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen is a regular guest at opera houses worldwide. Past engagements include the title role in Rusalka (San Francisco Opera, NDR Hamburg), Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier (Glyndebourne Festival, Semperoper Dresden, ROH, Santa Fe Opera), Violetta in La traviata (Opéra national de Bordeaux, LA Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper), Elsa in Lohengrin (Deutsche Oper Berlin, Zurich Opera, Oper Frankfurt), Desdemona in Otello (Vienna State Opera, Munich, LA Opera), Mimì in La bohème (Munich, Dresden), Countess in Le nozze di Figaro (Metropolitan Opera, Vienna, Munich), Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (ROH, Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Vienna, Houston Grand Opera, Dresden, Santa Fe Opera) and Leonora in Il trovatore (Teatro Regio di Torino, Liceu, ROH). She has a multi-record deal with Sony Classical and released her debut album in April 2022. Engagements for 2025/26 include role debuts as Arabella at the Metropolitan Opera and Thaïs at Théâtre du Capitole, Toulouse, Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) and Leonora at Bayerische Staatsoper, Elsa at the Baden-Baden Festival and Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos) in Glyndebourne.
