Eligibility
Our Access Scheme is designed for disabled people, those living with long-term health conditions and their companions, friends and family to enjoy ballet and opera without barriers.
Registering for our Access Scheme
We may ask for proof of eligibility to purchase discounted Accessible Performance tickets or a companion ticket. We might ask for this at registration, during ticket purchases, at the venue or if misuse is suspected.
Acceptable documentation includes, but is not limited to:
- Being a member of an official Disability Access Scheme
- Be in receipt of State disability benefits
- Holding a Blue Badge
- Registration with an official UK Access scheme such as NIMBUS
If an eligible visitor is unable or unwilling to provide documentation, they must contact box office to discuss their requirements and finalise their registration.
Failure to provide the required documentation or providing falsified information will result in the denial of access, cancellation of tickets and may lead to permanent exclusion from the Scheme.
Companion tickets
We offer complimentary companion tickets for visitors who require additional support. They must be issued alongside the Accessible Performance ticket and must be the neighboring seat or nearby so they are available to assist as needed.
A companion, in the context of the Scheme, is an individual who provides essential assistance or support to an eligible visitor during the event, ensuring their safety, comfort and enjoyment.
In the instance of a companion becoming separated from the visitor during the performance, they may be asked to rejoin the visitor or risk voiding the companion ticket. If the companion is no longer needed, the venue must be informed, and the ticket returned.
Misuse of Accessible tickets, including falsification of eligibility, unauthorised resale, purchasing more than a single companion ticket or transfer of tickets, will result in immediate cancellation of the tickets, deactivation of your account and forfeiture of any associated benefits.
Accessible Performances
We schedule a variety of Accessible Performances and events throughout the Season, including Relaxed Performances, British Sign Language-interpreted, Audio Described, Captioned and Touch Tours.
We offer discounts for Accessible Performances if you are a member of the Access Scheme.
