The Royal Ballet announces additions to the end of the 2026/27 Season: Heritage Classics and further performances of Manon

The Royal Ballet announces updates to the 2026/27 Season, with two productions added to the Company’s exciting programme of works across the year. The final programme of the Season showcases the versatility of The Royal Ballet's artists in Heritage Classics, a new triple bill which will run alongside further performances of Manon. Public booking will open on 10 February 2027.

Heritage Classics

A programme of elegance and beauty, Heritage Classics brings together celebrated ballets from the Company’s repertory: Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto, Frederick Ashton’s A Month in the Country and Rudolf Nureyev’s production of Marius Petipa’s Raymonda Act III.

Kenneth MacMillan created Concerto in 1966 whilst ballet director at Deutsche Oper Berlin. A non-narrative ballet set to Dmitry Shostakovich's vibrant second piano concerto, it premiered in Covent Garden the subsequent year to critical acclaim. A Month in the Country was choreographed by Frederick Ashton for the expressive qualities of Lynn Seymour and Anthony Dowell in an evocative setting of Ivan Turgenev’s play of tangled love interests. Staged by Rudolf Nureyev for The Royal Ballet in 1969, Marius Petipa’s Raymonda Act III is a grand showcase of classical ballet, providing a fitting finale to the programme.

Further performances of Manon

The Company will close the Season with further performances of Manon, one of its signature ballets. Kenneth MacMillan’s masterpiece was created for the Company in 1974 and is a showcase for the talented dance actors of The Royal Ballet with performances from 8 June to 2 July 2027.
